Training of police officers from police posts and gender desk on holistic and rights-based community policing through integrated EWER systems and gender sensitivity.

SOYPED 11.11.2025 launched a three-day training for police officers from police posts and gender desks in Baidoa on holistic and rights-based community policing through integrated EWER systems and gender sensitivity.

The training was officially opened by the Deputy Chairperson of Social Affairs, Baidoa District, who emphasized the need for stronger trust between communities and law enforcement to build lasting peace.

A total of 45 participants attended, including police officers, EWER focal points, and community representatives. The sessions focused on improving officers’ skills in early conflict detection, human rights protection, and gender-sensitive policing.

By the end of the training, participants are expected to apply rights-based and community-centered approaches in their daily work, improve coordination with local communities, and contribute to reducing incidents of violence and gender-related abuses across Baidoa.
